I Am A Donut....

It seems that a precedent has been found. Suddenly feeling like my geography teacher may not have been alone in his approach to instruction: this is America, this is Africa, this is Egypt, this is China and this is England/France/Germany.

In Solidarity...

If you peek in every-so-often, you are likely aware that I'm a member of the Bahá’í Faith. If you have been following the news recently, you are likely aware of the fact that my spiritual brothers and sisters in Iran have come under an increased wave of persecution in recent years....
London
Berlin

The fourth court trial for the Yaran (elected leaders of the Bahá’í community in Iran) - 7 individuals who have been in Tehran's infamous Evin Prison for over 2 years - began yesterday. Until now, all trials have been closed despite promises to their families and attorneys.

In a show of support for these people who are wrongfully detained and persecuted, a global call for their release was issued yesterday.

Above: raising awareness in London, UK and Berlin, Germany. For more complete information, you may wish to peep this article.

I have been constantly amazed and impressed by the empathy exibited by the blogging and 'tech' community - a community that some could mistakenly interpret as disenchanted, detached and generally speaking "anti" - in areas of human rights. This community has championed the underdog and raised awareness on issues that are vital to society and yet are somehow ignored by the news media. I ask that you, my little family of bloggers, keep these people in your prayers and thoughts.

Thank you.

Less Talk, More Rock...

Creative people really blow my mind, sometimes. I get the feeling that, come hell or high water, some people are just going to make art. ...or, you know, invent stuff.

Yes, Please...

I'm heading to the beach tomorrow - and then a wedding on Saturday...! Clearly I'm in weekend count-down mode. Before I get too carried away - have a nice weekend. I plan to.

Also? How badly do you want to be on that swing right now? No... that's just me?

Do Re Me Fa So La Te To....

Head's up courtesy I*Heart*You - thanks!

Remember the high-five that started it all? Well... let's just say that my imagination may be getting the best of me.

Translation: presently having a mini-fantasy where the powers that be have installed a piano in the stairwell of my building. As evidenced above - stranger things have happened. ...just saying.

Sloppy Baby!

We've been working with a new water polo coach. I met him last night…. At practice we had to scrimmage one of the best youth teams in Israel – which we lost. We, to be fair, made a grip of mistakes.

After the practice this new coach called us jelly fish. Basically out of shape and useless. HAHAHAHA.

I don’t understand Hebrew – but his meaning is pretty clear – so in my head he’s asking me if I think this is hard, I should try passing a kidney stone.
I think this could be fun.

Cheerio!

If you're going to read this article about racism and fear of diversity, you'll probably want to sit down.

I am saddened and still more than a little shocked by this - but then I'm generally wont to expect the best in people. The fact that this controversy surrounds a school is, to my mind, the worst part of this whole story. I was going to be sarcastic and maybe even a little caustic just now - but it's counterproductive, I realize.

Just this, then - do better. Yeah. That's all I have. I've written things down only to erase them at least 472 times now....
